A global automotive leader based in Galicia seeks a Global EOL Test Manager to provide technological leadership in End-of-Line testing and support manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive engineering, extensive experience in EOL testing, and proficiency in relevant programming languages. This role promotes best practices and leads a team in developing advanced test technologies in a collaborative environment.

Formación

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in automotive manufacturing engineering and/or EOL testing.
  • Knowledge of computer network architectures.

Descripción del empleo

The Global EOL Test Manager is responsible for providing both strategic and technological leadership in the areas of End-of-Line (EOL) testing and BorgWarner Production Control Systems (BWPCS). This individual will develop advanced EOL test technologies, design comprehensive test solutions, and provide training and standards. They will lead EOL Test Councils, promote best practices, share lessons learned, and foster a continuous learning environment among manufacturing engineers (MEs) in the plants.

Additionally, this position is responsible for establishing global Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) standards and supporting electronics manufacturing requirements for facilities. The Global EOL Test Manager will also collaborate closely with product development teams to create test and flash specifications for electronic products.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Provide leadership, direction, development, and operational oversight to the EOL Test standards, and process acceptance methods to ensure equipment flawless launches. Unify Manufacturing Test Strategies globally.
  2. Maintain EOL Test data collection and dashboard using BWPCS and provide expertise to improve the FTT and Scrap rate for the plant EOL Testers.
  3. Engage early with R&D in developing robust test specifications ensuring ease of launch.
  4. Develop procedures to support the CFT to create robust and cost-efficient solutions for the industrialization of new test equipment for eProducts.
  5. Drive down cost and investment and improve quality through standardization.
  6. Develop new manufacturing solutions to support cybersecurity for products and equipment.
  7. Mentor EOL Test Councils, facilitate EOL Test Councils, and ensure best practices are shared and lessons learned are understood and mitigated by the plants.
  8. Participate in the Acquisition Standards Team to ensure global equipment specifications are current, revise, and approve SOWs.
  9. Develop and maintain ME skill enhancement programs for ESD requirements and electrical tests.
  10. Work with plants in resolving manufacturing and quality issues related to test equipment.
  11. Support problem-solving for issues related to electronic components and develop systems for electrical sorting of products.
  12. Benchmark internally within BW and externally to develop best test practices and techniques.
  13. Lead a team of EOL Test technicians and BWPCS software developers to foster a culture of innovation in an agile environment.
  14. Define and maintain team KPIs and publish results periodically.
  15. Oversee training and coaching of staff, estimate personnel needs, assign work, and ensure policy compliance.
  16. Ensure compliance with organizational rules, ethics, environmental, health and safety standards, and quality norms.
  17. Perform other tasks as necessary to meet organizational needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering; Master’s preferred.
  2. Minimum 8 years of experience in automotive manufacturing engineering and/or EOL testing.
  3. Project management skills and experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  4. Knowledge of programming languages: Visual Basic, C, C++, C#, Python, etc.
  5. Knowledge of microcontroller programming and flashing.
  6. Knowledge of computer network architectures.
  7. Knowledge of automotive protocols: SAE SENT J2716, SAE CAN J1939, SAE LIN J2602.
  8. Knowledge of industrial protocols: RS232, RS485, GPIB, TCP/IP.
  9. Experience with test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, data loggers, etc., and troubleshooting electrical cabinets.
  10. Familiarity with Minitab is valued.
  11. Good English language skills (spoken and written).
  12. Experience in financial analysis for business cases and ROI calculations.
  13. Strong communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  14. Self-motivated, results-driven, with high organizational agility and adaptability.
  15. Willingness to travel internationally up to 50%.
