A leading gaming company in Spain is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and coach fullstack and backend teams. You will ensure high-quality engineering practices and collaborate with product management to align engineering capabilities with business goals. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience as an Engineering Manager, a background in software engineering, and extensive knowledge of AGILE methodologies. This role offers a hybrid work policy and great team benefits.

Formación

ABOUT THE ROLE

LeoVegas Group is building something special – a world-class area dedicated to creating the best Betting platform in the market through cutting-edge technology and innovative gaming experiences. To lead the charge, we're searching for a passionate and driven Engineering Manager to join our Betting platform domain who will lead and coach fullstack & backend teams distributed around the globe.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of senior engineers. While not directly coding on a daily basis, you will contribute your expertise to architectural decisions, code reviews, and the establishment of engineering best practices.
  • Leading the knowledge transfer and ownership of a well-documented, robust codebase currently maintained by a highly experienced team. You'll guide your new team through a comprehensive onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Champion a culture of engineering excellence by defining and implementing processes that enhance code quality, development efficiency, and team collaboration.
  • Lead with a people-first approach. You will be responsible for all aspects of people management, including performance evaluations, development plans, 1:1s and fostering a positive and empowering work environment.
  • Collaborate closely with product management to provide technical insights and contribute to the definition of product roadmaps, ensuring alignment between engineering capabilities and business goals. Taking end-to-end delivery plan ownership, ensuring projects move from concept to completion.
OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • At least 3 years of experience as Engineering Manager
  • Experience establishing, tracking and executing Engineering Delivery Plans
  • People management experience (leading 1:1s, performance evaluations, etc.)
  • Extensive experience with AGILE Methodologies to mentor self-organizing teams
  • Experience with microservices-based products
  • Solid engineering background, spending at least 5+ years working as a software engineer (Java or any other JVM language)
  • Experience working with Kafka or messaging systems
NICE TO HAVES
  • Experience managing more than one single team
  • Proven experience creating/coaching high-performing teams
