A luxury charter company in the Canary Islands is seeking an experienced captain for a new 80ft sail catamaran. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years as a captain, 2 years charter experience, and excellent navigational skills. Responsibilities include safe operation, guest engagement, and yacht maintenance. Formación

We are seeking a captain to manage, operate, and maintain a new 80ft charter sail catamaran. The captain will begin his work by taking over the yacht in the Canary Islands, cruising the Islands during the winter months and will further execute the charter cruising plan throughout the summer season in the Mediterranean Sea. The ideal candidate is someone with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the position of captain on similar-sized sailing yachts, with at least 2 years of charter background, excellent boat handling and navigational skills, as well as communication and management capabilities. We would require someone hands‑on, good with engineering and maintenance. English speaking is mandatory.

• navigate and operate the catamaran safely and efficiently, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all guests
• plan and execute itineraries that highlight the beauty of the Mediterranean and Caribbean landscapes
• maintain the yacht in a pristine condition, including routine maintenance and safety checks
• provide exceptional customer service, engaging with guests
• oversee crew members and delegate tasks to ensure smooth operations on board
• adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a secure environment for passengers and crew
• ensure that the vessel remains compliant with flag state regulations

Requirements

• Yacht Master Offshore commercially endorsed for sail boats (Yacht Master Ocean would be a plus)
• GMDSS GOC
• AEC
• STCW certificates
• Seafarers’ Medical Certificate ENG1
• valid Schengen Visa required for non‑Schengen candidates
• min. 4 years proven experience on the position of captain of a similar‑sized vessel (preferably sailing catamaran)
• at least 2 years of a proven charter track record
• very good knowledge of Mediterranean waters
• strong knowledge of sailing techniques, navigation, and boat maintenance
• excellent leadership and communication skills
