A global energy company in Zamudio is seeking an experienced Accounting Principles Manager specializing in financial instruments. In this hybrid role, you will advise business areas on complex transactions, serve as a key contact for the treasury department, and update group-wide accounting policies. Ideal candidates will hold a degree in finance, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and possess a solid understanding of IFRS 9. Proficiency in English is also required.

Formación

  • Long-term professional experience in auditing or accounting, with knowledge of financial mathematics.
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting for financial instruments (IFRS 9).
  • Ability to familiarize yourself with theoretical accounting regulations.

A Snapshot of Your Day

You will work in an international team in a governance role on the accounting of financial instruments (in particular derivatives and hedge accounting). Your collaborators are the local accounting teams, central treasury, controlling, and the auditors.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Advise representatives of the regions and business areas on complex and unusual transactions and answer questions on the accounting treatment of financial instruments, exchange rate risks, hedging, and financing.
  • Serve as the contact person for the central treasury department on accounting questions
  • Update the accounting policies to be applied on a required group-wide basis
  • Prepare decision‑making and information documents for management
What You Bring
  • Completed university degree, ideally with a focus on accounting / auditing or finance
  • Long‑term professional experience in the area of auditing or accounting, with knowledge of financial mathematics
  • Analytical thinking skills and the ability to familiarize yourself with theoretical accounting regulations and apply them to specific practical situations
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting for financial instruments (IFRS 9)
  • Ability to work in a team, very good communication skills, and an independent way of working.
  • Proficiency in English
