Remote Site Maintenance Engineer (m/f/d) | Munich, Germany

Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Remote Site Maintenance Engineer supports the Spaceopal Maintenance Manager in all aspects of Hosting Service provision and Ground Segment L1 Maintenance services at worldwide Galileo Remote Sites. Responsibilities include improving service reliability, reducing incidents, and contributing to remote site upgrades managed by the Remote Site Service Coordinator. Key tasks involve:
- Dealing with incidents, emergencies, and unplanned problems following GSOp Service Management Processes.
- Processing maintenance and hosting service tickets related to remote sites and GILSC with thorough analysis.
- Ensuring proper execution, recording, and follow-up of tasks to resolve issues per the GSOp ILS Plan.
- Acting as a point of contact for the ILS Support Desk for local maintenance status monitoring.
- Planning, scheduling, and verifying local maintenance work and solutions implementation.
- Developing annual preventive maintenance plans with site L1 and Hosting Maintenance teams.
- Supporting technical coordination of hosting and maintenance tasks.
- Recommending process refinements to optimize TAT between GILSC, sites, and manufacturers.
- Monitoring and assessing subcontractor performance.
- Maintaining accurate records and technical documentation.
- Reviewing subcontractor reporting data and issuing technical-managerial documentation.
- Supporting review boards and progress meetings (ARB, CCB, ILS working groups, MPM, QSPR, SER).
Additionally, assisting the Remote Site Service Coordinator in preparing technical proposals from EUSPA for contract changes related to remote sites.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- University degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or Electronics.
- Experience in similar roles, preferably in Space or Defense programs.
- Experience with the Galileo program.
- Proficiency with Maintenance Planning and Ticketing tools.
- Experience in maintenance, site service, and warehouse environments.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Strong teamwork orientation.
- Proficiency with standard office tools (word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet).
Work Location:
Headquarters in Munich, Germany. Periodic travel to GCC-D (Oberpfaffenhofen, Munich), GCC-I (Fucino, Italy), and GILSC (Transinne, Belgium) may be required for specific needs or milestones.
