Job Description: A Software Architect (d/f/m) position is open within the EW Platform Operational Support domain at Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. You will join “Ground Support Systems Software”.

We develop ground mission systems to support the operation of Defensive Aids Subsystem for our A400M, Eurofighter and Tornado aircrafts. Our systems enable mission data elaboration, provide the data interfaces to the onboard systems, and support the evaluation of the mission execution in the context of electronic warfare, defensive aids and sensor fusion.

• The successful applicant will join an integrated team developing mission data generation and mission data validation software for Tornado.
• As software architect (d/m/w) you will define and develop software solutions:
• You analyze the use cases and needs in close cooperation with the various stakeholders of the system engineering team.
• You define and realize the software design and the ability to evaluate different architectural solutions and choose the best solution. You are able to understand user workflows and define software and GUI solutions using specific technologies to support and enhance different steps throughout the mission data production and verification.
• Design and implement mission data preparation and verification solutions with state-of-the-art technologies such as Eclipse RCP, OSGI and Java.
• Prepare and execute software tests to satisfy the different levels of software verification and validation.
• Integrate activities in the Software Development Lifecycle. Develop according to the Software Development Plan and accompanying standards.

• You hold a university degree in computer science or equivalent qualification.
• You consider yourself a Software Architect with:
  • Object-oriented analysis and design using UML
  • Code programming skills in Java, C, Python
  • GUI implementation for desktop applications with EMF and SWT
  • Sound knowledge of development environments (e.g. Eclipse IDE, Git, Maven, SonarQube)
  • Special knowledge in data model design and relational database (e.g. Oracle)
• Experience in Electronic warfare and defensive aids systems is a plus.
• You are a good communicator with a proactive mindset and the ability to work in a team.
• Agile software development processes and methods are familiar to you.
• You are fluent in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
