General Summary:
Arriver™ is a new software unit and brand, fully focused on developing perception, fusion and drive policy software for the next generation cars. It will deliver an open, scalable and flexible architecture solution running on Qualcomm® Snapdragon Ride™ System on a Chip (SoC) platform. Arriver™ has 800 people in 5 countries – China, Germany, Romania, Sweden, USA– and builds on more than a decade of experience in active safety software development. As a Staff engineer, you will be part of the SW team responsible for Motion Planning of the next-generation L2-L4 Automated driving stack. Your work will span production, pre-production, and demo development over the immediate-to-5+ year product horizon. You will work with high independence and lead in- and inter-team topics while coaching and supporting peers to foster team growth.
The team is agile, cross-site, cross-functional and has end-to-end responsibility on the SW level. You will jointly own the Motion Planning algorithms and their implementation, ensuring quality, and scaling during the entire product lifecycle - from concept through to implementation, integration, V&V, production, and addressing post-production defects.
M.Sc. or Ph.D. in computer science, robotics, or similar
Strong background and working experience with Trajectory Optimization (Multi-objective optimization, MPC, LQR, NLP, QP, etc.)
Experience with Decision Making for robotics
Advanced C++, version control
Software Engineering expertise
Test-driven development experience
Fluency in English
Background in AD/ADAS feature or system development
Path finding expertise
Experience with robust software design for safety-critical systems
Experience with embedded systems
Familiarity with dependability (FUSA/SOTIF)
Familiarity with Automotive SW standards (AUTOSAR, MISRA)
Experience in Requirements Engineering
