Your contribution :
The Vehicle Testing Lead is responsible for leading strategic cross-department projects focused on exploring and testing low voltage electrical systems in vehicles. This role may include disciplinary leadership of certain teams, with a high degree of autonomy. You will contribute significantly to the development of the department and organization. As a recognized technical expert, you will interface with internal and external customers and suppliers to plan, execute, document, publish, and present project status and results. The role also involves developing new capabilities, processes, innovative concepts, and training internal employees.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead engineering projects, including team leadership for vehicle power net testing and vehicle diagnostics.
- Plan, execute, document, publish, and present project status and results to internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilize tools like CANalyzer, CANoe, and data loggers for data collection and analysis.
- Perform technical market analysis and monitor developments of new vehicle models, such as hybrid vehicles.
- Develop knowledge bases regarding new and future vehicle electrical architectures.
- Create and implement test procedures, organize, conduct, and execute vehicle benchmarking.
- Adapt and simulate vehicle power net systems for laboratory testing, including battery power and life testing.
- Develop knowledge and acquire new test equipment relevant to power net testing.
- Develop and deliver training for internal teams.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Typically gained through a four-year university program (Master’s, Magister, or Diplom) and professional experience, or a three-year vocational qualification plus advanced professional development and experience.
- Strong project management skills.
- Hands-on instrumentation skills on vehicles.
- Excellent data analytics, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience with OE automotive powertrain systems and components.
- Familiarity with OE test specifications and customer interface.
- Experience with vehicle diagnostic tools, communication protocols like CAN, LIN, and tools like Vector.
- Knowledge of machine learning, big data processing, and cloud data handling.
- Fluent in English and proficient in German.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with batteries and algorithms such as SoC, SoH, SoF.
- Familiarity with competitor benchmarking.
- Exposure to battery management systems (BMS) in vehicles.
- Basic scripting or programming skills in MATLAB, Python, Excel, Famos for data processing and reporting.
