Job Description
The basic core job functions include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing and interpreting drawings and other documents to identify provisioning requirements.
- Developing and managing Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD), such as Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPB), Allowance Parts Lists (APL), and Allowance Equipage List (AEL).
- Collaborating with engineers, logisticians, supply personnel, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely provisioning.
- Utilizing databases like Deck Plate, Web Flis, Interactive Computer Aided Provisioning System (ICAPS), and Model-Based Product Support (MBPS) to manage provisioning data and track changes.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures related to provisioning.
- Tracking and resolving Diminished Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS).
- Supporting Navy Fleet Maintenance and Modernization efforts.
- Analyze ship equipment/systems configuration and ensure correct hierarchy is assigned.
- Actively participate in regularly scheduled internal/external training exercises.
Required/ Education/Training
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate BIW Apprentice.
Required/ Experience
- Technician I - 0-1 years' experience with US Navy Ships required.
- Technician II - 1-4 years' experience with US Navy Ships required.
- Technician III - 5-9 years' experience with US Navy Ships required.

- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
- Strong equipment/mechanical aptitude required.
- Ability to work from a computer all day required.
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite experience required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team required.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and assignments required.
- Required to undergo and favorably pass a US Government security background investigation for DoD Secret Security Clearance if you do not already have one. Current Secret Security Clearance with the US Government is preferred.
- This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance. You must be a US citizen for consideration and you must be able to obtain an interim security clearance within the first 45 days of hire. - Working knowledge of shipboard equipment and systems.
- Skilled computer user.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite experience.
- Ability to analyze technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Working knowledge of Navy technical documentation and terms.
- Knowledge of Navy Supply Chain management principles.
- Proficiency in using Logistics databases and software.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret ship equipment/system drawings.
- Strong understanding of Change Management principles.
- Shipbuilding/shipboard or related experience.
