By using photons instead of electrons NPUs can significantly accelerate operations like matrixvector multiplications which are at the core of many HPC and AI applications. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of high-performance computing (HPC) artificial intelligence (AI) and photonic hardware. The student will be part of a research team exploring how NPUs can enhance computational performance helping to develop benchmark and optimize AI and HPC applications for next-generation computing platforms.

Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Support development of benchmarks
  • Run benchmarks and profile parallel applications on NPUs using MPI
  • Take part in project meetings, contribute to technical discussions, help contributing to the report with evaluation results
