A leading technical university in Aachen is seeking a Student Assistant focused on Laser Material Processing and Robotics. This part-time position entails supporting development in robot-based applications and conducting experimental work. Ideal candidates are enrolled in relevant technical degree programs and possess strong manual skills with some programming knowledge. The Chair of Laser Technology LLT at RWTH Aachen University, in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, forms one of the leading European centers for fundamental and contract research in the field of laser technology. The Digital Photonics group develops laser-related algorithms, optimizes laser and production processes, and researches digital systems engineering for laser material processing – often within publicly funded projects. Modern laboratories and an interdisciplinary environment provide ideal conditions to practically address exciting research questions and gain valuable experience.
The successful candidate will be employed as a student assistant.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of initially 1 year.
It is intended to extend the contract.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 10 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 14.50 euros per hour.
