The People Partner / Site HR Manager(m/f/d) is the HR leader responsible for our recently acquired Solid Board plant Sonneberg and its ~190 employees and will drive a positive & productive culture, an environment of trust and accountability, and deliver HR excellence and process improvement. This role is the primary point of contact for the managers and employees and provides expertise and guidance in the areas of culture and performance and talent management, talent development and learning, compensation, conflict management, employee relations and leadership coaching.

Your mission:
  • Serve as a strong functional partner and active member of the Site Leadership team (=OpCo) to drive cohesive decision‑making, foster collaboration, and drive the development and execution of key HR initiatives that align with business goals and Mondi HR strategy
  • Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to managers and employees with specific focus on: employee advocacy/engagement, employee relations management, performance management, career development, talent assessment, acquisition and retention and workplace investigations as appropriate
  • Provide employees and managers with an available first point of contact for questions and guidance on fundamental HR topics and issues; escalates concerns beyond their scope to HR Business Partners; navigates employees and manager to Payroll when it is the more appropriate resource
  • Partner closely with relevant HR Business Partners (Business Segment/Country or Region/Payroll) and HR CoE professionals to drive a cohesive and aligned HR agenda and execute business‑specific HR strategies
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices at 100% compliance to promote an ethical and compliant work environment
  • Lead key HR processes including performance, talent management, compensation planning, onboarding, new manager assimilation etc. incl. training
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and HR CoE’s to align on and execute relevant HR projects or initiatives as needed across multiple client groups at site
  • Ensure all HR matters are handled fairly and consistently with local laws and regulations and our company compliance regulations
  • Maintain and protect confidential data with utmost scrutiny, judgment, and care
Your profile:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in a Human Resources related area
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in a responsibleHR role preferably in an industry environment
  • Sound knowledge of local labor laws and government requirements, knowledge of union/employee relations and works council management advantegeous
  • Developed communication and diplomacy skill set with the ability to influence others by presenting sound and logical arguments tailored to the audience
  • Hands‑on self‑starter who has a demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and work independently while being able to effectively navigate and partner in a matrix environment
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and capable of handling multiple issues and/or projects simultaneously and executing to completion
  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, project management, organizational and change agent skills
  • Passionate, employee advocate who wants to make a difference in the organization by helping employees succeed
  • Approachable and responsive resource able to connect with employees at all levels
  • Strong customer service focus, with a high level of responsiveness
  • Supportive team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment; ability to diffuse a tense situation

  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
