You will strategically expand defense activities, develop sales strategies, and build relationships with decision-makers. Overview

This Challenge Awaits You

As a Senior Sales Manager in the Defense business unit, you will take on a key role in strategically expanding our defense activities. Depending on your background – whether from industry or a governmental/military environment – you will develop tailored sales strategies, identify new business opportunities, and build strong relationships with decision-makers in the defense industry or within the Bundeswehr and public authorities. With your network and understanding of the respective structures, you will position IAV as an innovative and reliable technology partner in the defense sector.

Responsibilities
  • You take responsibility for sales in the Defense area with a focus on industry or Bundeswehr & public authorities
  • You develop and implement sales strategies to tap into new business opportunities
  • You identify and acquire projects with system integrators, industrial companies, or Bundeswehr stakeholders and public authorities
  • You build and maintain customer relationships – especially with key individuals in industry or the public sector
  • You conduct market analyses and monitor competitors to identify trends and innovation potential
  • You present IAV’s technical capabilities to customers and partners
  • You prepare proposals and conduct contract negotiations with industrial or public clients
Necessary Skills
  • Successfully completed university degree, ideally with a technical, economic, or military focus
  • Several years of experience in the defense industry or in a governmental/military environment (e.g., as an officer or in a comparable role)
  • In-depth knowledge of structures, processes, and decision-making pathways in industry or within the Bundeswehr and public authorities (e.g., BAAINBw)
  • Technical understanding of military technologies and their application or integration concepts
  • Experience handling confidential information and understanding of security clearance requirements
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills in industrial or governmental settings
  • Excellent German language skills (at least C1 level) and good English skills (at least B2 level)
