Overview

Senior Project Developer – Renewable Energy

Leap29 are working closely with a rapidly expanding developer, investor, and operator in the renewable energy sector. They have a strong pipeline of solar onshore and offshore wind, and storage projects across European markets.

Your Role :

As Senior Project Developer, you’ll oversee the entire project lifecycle for secured sites from early-stage development through to ready-to-build status. Reporting to the Business Development Director Germany, you’ll play a key role in driving projects forward and ensuring successful delivery.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage project schedules, budgets, quality control, risk management, and internal reporting.
• Coordinate with internal teams, partners, advisors, suppliers, and authorities to ensure all RTB project requirements are met.
• Assess and manage offers from external service providers, oversee order processing, and provide support as needed.
• Contribute to financial models, business cases, and investment proposals for renewable energy projects.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Engage with local communities, landowners, developers, and regulatory bodies to advance project development.

What We’re Looking For

• Degree (Master’s, Bachelor’s, or equivalent) in Engineering, Geography, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in renewable energy project development (PV or biomass; BESS experience is a plus).
• Strong understanding of the project development process up to RTB status and familiarity with German regulations for PV and BESS projects.
• Native or fluent German, with strong English skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently within Germany.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and networking skills.
