A biological technology firm headquartered in Munich is seeking a Senior Occupational Health, Safety Specialist. You will lead OHS policies and regulatory compliance across facilities, manage safety training programs, and oversee governance processes. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of OHS experience and a firm grasp of German regulations. This full-time position offers a hybrid work model, an annual salary between €70,000 - €75,000, and various benefits including stock options.

Yearly Salary: €70,000 - €75,000 (fixed range, annual gross)
Stock Options: €20,000 - €40,000

As the Specialist for Occupational Health, Safety, you will drive the implementation of OHS policies, ensure ongoing regulatory compliance, and oversee comprehensive training programs across both Orbem facilities and client sites. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including members of the Corporate Operations and Field Operations teams, to integrate safety compliance into daily operations, maintenance, and long-term strategic planning. Additionally, you will manage relationships with regulatory bodies, oversee governance processes, and ensure that all workplace environments remain safe, compliant, and future-ready.
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) programs across all Orbem facilities and client sites.
Oversee and maintain company-wide OHS training initiatives, ensuring all sessions are delivered regularly, documented, and remain up to date.
Establish and manage safety governance processes, including incident reporting, internal audits, and periodic risk assessments.
Partner with the Facilities team to embed OHS standards into daily operations, maintenance activities, and long-term strategic planning.
Support and monitor facility operations to ensure all repairs, maintenance, and workplace activities meet OHS standards.
Manage regulatory compliance, liaise with relevant authorities, and ensure timely responses to inspections or audits.

5+ years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and German regulatory compliance, internally and at on-site client installations – ensuring seamless safety integration into customer operations.
Proven ability to enable company growth by embedding robust health and safety compliance practices that support — rather than slow down — innovation and progress.
Proven experience designing, delivering, and managing health and safety training programs.
Strong understanding of German regulatory frameworks (ArbSchG, BetrSichV, BioStoffV, StrlSchG).
Demonstrated success managing OHS in complex environments, across multi-site laboratory and/or workshop settings.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.
Excellent communication in German (C1+) & English (B2+).
Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to safety and compliance.
Experience with MRI facilities or biological laboratories, ideally in a deep-tech or high-tech environment.
Strong academic foundation with a degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
Skilled at interpreting and adapting regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance in new geographical regions, including APAC and Southeast Asia.
