How about joining a team that has financed over 3 GW of renewable energy capacity while also supporting the development of 1.8 m HA forestry and landscape restoration assets in Africa, Asia and Latin America?

FS Impact Finance is a specialised investment firm with a variety of mandates in financial inclusion, renewable energy (RE), forest landscape restoration (FLR) and start-up funding. Our financing solutions with a clear focus on frontier and emerging markets aim to improve livelihoods, protect and restore biodiversity, promote clean energy and economic growth, mitigate climate change – and make people and infrastructure more resilient to it.

In the infrastructure finance space – based on +15 years of experience in supporting the development of RE generation assets in Africa and Asia through the Seed Capital Assistance Facility (SCAF) – we are in the process of

• Setting up a new SCAF III debt fund (in addition to a replenished grant facility), which has already generated great interest among potential investors;

The candidate we are seeking to hire will lead the development, fundraising and implementation of these two new blended finance strategies. With strong investor interest (SCAF III) and potential base funding (RIF) at an advanced stage, this is an opportunity to join us at a pivotal moment.

Roles and responsibilities

• Lead the development and associated fundraising of the two new blended finance strategies;
• Subsequently, lead and oversee the funds’ i) investment-, portfolio and impact strategies, ii) operations (deal origination, due diligence, investment process, monitoring), iii) contracting and legal works, iv) investor relations and reporting;
• Manage and mentor internal fund management teams; HR responsibilities;
• Represent the firm at relevant conferences, events and meetings.

Qualifications

• +15 years of experience in infrastructure finance, including but not limited to RE; experience with both project and corporate (debt) finance is viewed as a powerful asset;
• +5 years of experience in structuring funds and potentially other financial vehicles is seen as a positive;
• Strong skills in understanding legal structures and documentation, both on fund level and investment level (financing of assets and companies);
• Proven experience in fundraising with public and private entities; ability to manage multiple/ diverse stakeholders from the private and public sectors;
• Experience in Africa or Asia is desirable but not mandatory;
• Relevant university degree;
• Fluent in English; command of the German language is desirable but not mandatory;
