Sales Director - Data Centre Business Unit - Frankfurt, Germany.
We are seeking a visionary and technically accomplished leader to oversee our global Data Centre business unit. This role is central to driving innovation in energy-efficient infrastructure, ensuring operational excellence, and supporting the digital backbone of a multinational technology and manufacturing organization with a strong focus on sustainability and smart solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the global data centre strategy aligned with business growth, digital transformation, and sustainability goals.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the planning, construction, and maintenance of data centres, ensuring high availability, scalability, and energy efficiency.
- Operational Excellence: Implement best practices in uptime management, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and compliance with international standards (e.g., ISO, Uptime Institute).
- Team Leadership: Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and project managers. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- You will be managing 90 people indirectly, with 20 direct reports.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with equipment suppliers, service providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and optimal performance.
- Sustainability & Efficiency: Drive initiatives to reduce carbon footprint, optimize power usage effectiveness (PUE), and integrate renewable energy solutions.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure data centre operations adhere to regulatory requirements, cybersecurity protocols, and environmental standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience (10+ years) in managing large-scale data centre operations or infrastructure programs.
- Strong technical background in electrical, mechanical, and IT systems within data centre environments.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects across multiple geographies.
- Familiarity with green building standards, energy-efficient technologies, and smart infrastructure.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
Preferred Certifications
- Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD)
- Data Centre Energy Practitioner (DCEP)
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
