The Cluster of Excellence “Climate, Climatic Change, and Society” (CLICCS) investigates climate dynamics and climate-related social dynamics, as well as the interactions between the two. We collaborate across natural and social sciences and work in an integrating manner with partners such as the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, Helmholtz Centre Hereon, and the German Climate Computing Centre. Your responsibilities: Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications. They may also pursue doctoral studies alongside working duties. We are seeking an outstanding PhD candidate to join our research group in the field of Climate Finance. The successful applicant will contribute to cutting-edge research on the impact of climate risks—particularly climate extremes—on financial markets, as well as the role of financial markets in supporting the green transition. The position includes the application of state-of-the-art machine learning methods and large language models to generate and analyze new data in climate finance as well as the development of advanced financial models that integrate climate risks into asset pricing and market dynamics.
A university degree in a relevant field.
