The Registered Nurse Pain Management role at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center is critically important because it directly supports the health and well-being of patients dealing with acute and chronic pain, often including service members and their families. By providing expert care, coordinating treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, this position helps improve patient outcomes, reduce suffering, and enhance quality of life. The RN’s work not only ensures compliance with high standards of care but also contributes to a more resilient and supported military community, making a lasting impact through compassionate, evidence-based nursing practices.


What You’ll Do


  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.

  • Perform physical exam and health histories.

  • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.

  • Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.

  • Direct and supervise care provided by other healthcare professionals.

  • Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.

  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.

  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.

  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.

  • Perform nursing services

  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.

  • Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and/or specialized practices or procedures, which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing and handling specialized instruments or other specialized equipment, and ensuring adequate supply are always available.


Qualifications


  • Degree: Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing (BSN), or master’s degree of Nursing (MSN). Contract registered nurses must have graduated from an accredited professional nursing educational program. Foreign Trained RNs. Certification by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS).

  • Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

  • Required to obtain a certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross approved training program before contract start date and must maintain this certification during the employment with the MTF.

  • Required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Defense Health Agency and MTF specific credentialing instructions. Plus a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a RN during the last 3 years.

  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse
