The Position

Your new position as R&D Engineer (f/m/d) will be located in the Antibody Development subchapter, which belongs to Reagent Research & Design department in Roche Diagnostics.

We aim to improve everybody's health by the design & development of high quality novel reagents and diagnostics solutions. We count on the scientific excellence and innovative solutions of our people and foster a culture of trust, empowerment and cross-functional collaboration.

We aim to develop the best in class antibodies for highly sensitive and specific detection of any biomarker in any test format.

The opportunity
  • Independent planning, execution, documentation, and presentation of experiments within research projects aimed at optimizing antibody development.
  • Development of diagnostic antibodies using classical hybridoma technology as well as modern B-cell PCR techniques.
  • Isolation and cultivation of B cells, including single-cell sorting from specific B-cell populations followed by screening for specific antibodies.
  • Execution and further improvement of all process steps with extensive use of automated high-throughput systems.
Who you are
  • You have completed a Master's degree (f/m/d) in Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • In addition, you bring solid knowledge and hands-on experience in immunological and cell biology techniques such as cell culture, FACS, and ELISA.
  • You have a strong interest in antibody development and in laboratory automation, combined with openness and curiosity for new ideas and interdisciplinary approaches.
  • Independent, committed, and well-organized working style with a strong team orientation and the ability to think outside the box.
  • You have excellent English skills, both written and spoken; knowledge of German is an advantage.

This position is limited to 2 years.
