Your Future Role

More than 35,000 locomotives have already travelled the world from Kassel. At Alstom's traditional site in Kassel, in addition to new construction, service for the well-known Traxx locomotive platform is playing an increasingly important role. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites. You'll report to Raju ROY and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.

As a Project Planning Manager (f/m/d) you will lead the planning, scheduling, and progress control of complex locomotive projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and contractual commitments. You will be a key member of the Project Core Team, guiding stakeholders through the planning lifecycle and proactively managing risks and opportunities.

Strategic Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop and maintain the Detailed Project Schedule (DPS), integrating sub-schedules from all involved functions and partners;
  • Apply the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) as a cost and progress management tool;
  • Lead harmonization of schedules across internal and external stakeholders, including consortium partners and suppliers;
  • Monitor critical paths, identify risks early, and propose mitigation or recovery plans;
  • Leverage SAP insights to better understand and align with production scheduling and material availability.
Leadership & Communication
  • Facilitate schedule-related meetings within the Project Core Team and across functions;
  • Ensure transparent communication of schedule objectives and updates to all stakeholders;
  • Support the Project Manager in discussions around schedule delays, improvements, and change requests;
  • Represent the project in consortium settings, maintaining proactive engagement with partner planners.
Performance & Reporting
  • Deliver timely schedule updates, progress reports, and KPI tracking (e.g., OTD, documentation milestones, gate reviews);
  • Provide schedule analysis during tenders, highlighting critical paths and planning risks;
  • Contribute to the definition of the Project Time Management Plan and ensure consistency across units.

Education & Learning Pathways
  • University degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field;
  • Alternatively, a tertiary qualification with relevant planning & scheduling experience;
  • Additional certification in planning tools or project management is a plus.
Experience & Growth Potential
  • 3-5 years of experience in project planning or scheduling roles;
  • Familiarity with industries such as rail, energy, oil & gas, or technology;
  • Proficiency in Primavera and MS Project is essential; knowledge of Planisware and SAP is a strong advantage;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proactive mindset, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
