Project Manager – Device Development (m/f/d)

Our client is a large, international technology company operating in a highly regulated, security critical environment. They are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Device Development to lead the development of advanced secure radio communication devices.

About the role

This role sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and system development, combining hands on technical project leadership with coordination of international, cross location R&D teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage device level development projects for secure radio communication systems
• Coordinate international and cross location engineering teams across hardware, software, and system disciplines
• Take ownership of project planning, execution, risk management, and delivery
• Provide technical project leadership, acting as the interface between engineering, system architecture, and management
• Contribute to technical specifications, system and device architectures, and interface definitions
• Support strategic make or buy decisions in collaboration with engineering and procurement teams
• Ensure compliance with quality, security, and regulatory requirements
• Work closely with stakeholders in a structured, transparent, and solution oriented manner

Mandatory Requirements (Must Have)

• Completed degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field
• Several years of professional experience in project management within device or system development
• Proven experience leading international, cross location development teams
• Strong hands on experience with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, RTC or comparable tools
• Solid technical understanding of hardware and software development processes
• Experience contributing to technical specifications, system and device architectures, interface definitions
• Strong analytical mindset and structured way of working
• High level of initiative and team oriented attitude
• Negotiation level German and English, both written and spoken
• Willingness and eligibility to obtain NfD security clearance (Ü2 not required)

Nice to Have

• Experience in secure, safety critical, or mission critical communication systems
• Knowledge of agile development methods such as Scrum or SAFe
• Experience supporting technology selection and make or buy decisions
• Exposure to manufacturing cost optimisation and production related topics
• Strong intercultural communication skills and experience working in international environments
