Insight Recruitment are partnered with a leading client delivering a major data centre construction programme and are seeking an experienced Project Director to take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a flagship project.

This is a senior leadership role, overseeing the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, on a complex, fast-paced, and highly technical data centre build.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the data centre project
• Take full responsibility for programme, cost, quality, safety, and risk
• Lead and coordinate multiple workstreams including construction, MEP, commissioning, and client stakeholders
• Manage senior project teams, contractors, consultants, and supply chain partners
• Act as the primary interface with the client, end user, and key external stakeholders
• Drive performance against programme milestones and commercial targetsEnsure best-in-class health, safety, and compliance standards are maintained
• Support wider business objectives and future pipeline where required

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Project Director / Programme Director / Senior Project Lead on large, complex construction projects
• Strong data centre experience is highly desirable (hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical environments)
• Excellent understanding of MEP-led construction and commissioning processes
• Demonstrable experience managing large project teams and multi-million-pound budgets
• Strong commercial acumen and contractual knowledge
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Willingness to be site-based as required
• GERMAN SPEAKERS ARE HIGHLY DESIRABLE
