The Faculty of Spatial Development and Infrastructure Systems actively drives this societal transformation through its teaching, research, and knowledge transfer. Key areas of focus include the energy transition, mobility, water management, climate adaptation strategies, open space and landscape planning, as well as digital innovation.

TH Köln has established the Centre for Innovation with Nature (CEIN), a research and transfer infrastructure dedicated to enhancing climate resilience and promoting sustainable resource management. Serving as a transdisciplinary real‑world laboratory in the Rhineland region, CEIN fosters innovation and advances the development of a European model region for energy and resource security.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will represent the field of Regional Circular Economy in teaching within the Bachelor's and Master's programs at the Faculty of Spatial Development and Infrastructure Systems, offering courses in both German and English. Research activities are expected to enhance the profile of the faculty and TH Köln, while also actively contributing to the acquisition of third‑party funding. Additionally, the candidate will participate in university self‑governance and is willing to assume related responsibilities.

Qualifications
  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, as well as a doctorate.
  • Demonstrated exceptional achievements in research and publications.
  • Strong methodological skills and teaching experience in areas related to Regional Circular Economy.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, with at least three years obtained outside the academic sector.
  • Willingness to (co‑)supervise Master's and doctoral theses.
  • Ability to secure third‑party funding and possess strong teamwork skills.
  • Excellent proficiency in both English and German.
  • Experience in participating in applied research projects is also desired.
