A leading technology company is seeking a Lead Functional Safety Engineer to oversee Functional Safety for automotive applications. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in safety-critical systems and expertise in ISO26262 standards. The engineer will guide teams to implement and validate safety properties for products. The Lead Functional Safety Engineer will guide the Harman software, hardware, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure that all needed Safety properties are considered, implemented, and validated before launching the HARMAN product for customer GM in-vehicle deployment. This is the first product at HARMAN to fulfill the highest level of Safety requirements : ASIL D and fail operational.
In this cross-divisional function you will be the primary contact for Functional Safety towards the customer and continuously report the status to the overall HARMAN program management. Based on your broad experience you will prepare and propose appropriate measures to protect HARMAN from liability risks related to Functional Safety. This includes active risk management with parallel escalation path to HARMAN Automotive Senior Leadership Team, also paying attention to the significant lifetime sales.
