A leading medical device manufacturer in Berlin is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the facility. Candidates should have at least 1-3 years of maintenance experience and a high school diploma. The job includes preventive upkeep, cleaning tasks, and assisting with repairs. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with the ability to work independently and a good understanding of safety practices.
TOMZ Corporation builds components for the world’s leading medical device companies. We offer competitive pay and a robust benefits package, including 401(k), health, dental, vision, and paid time off. Our operation runs in a modern, spotless, and safe environment equipped with state‑of‑the‑art technology. TOMZ is FDA registered as a Class II and Class III Medical Device Manufacturer and certified to ISO 13485.
You’ll report to the Facilities Manager and keep our high‑precision machining and finishing areas running smoothly. Your day may begin with a round of basic preventive tasks—touch‑up painting where needed and mounting a new monitor or whiteboard so teams can see production data clearly. Mid‑morning, you’ll hop on the floor scrubber to keep aisles and machining cells dry and safe, occasionally mopping between machines to catch what the scrubber can’t. After lunch, you might empty operational trash stations, complete a full cleanout on a CNC machine—removing chips and changing coolant—and spin out metal chips to reclaim coolant. When issues arise, you’ll assist with light repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems. Throughout, you’ll model exceptional housekeeping and follow PPE and safety rules. Other duties will pop up, and you’ll tackle them with the same care and urgency.
While performing the duties of this job, you will frequently sit, talk and/or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. You will frequently stand and/or walk. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds when moving equipment, parts, coolant, and metal chip pans. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
