Job Purpose
The Medical Director Strategy and Collaborations will lead strategic engagement with external medical societies and alliances, driving innovative co‑creation initiatives and ensuring high‑quality, compliant execution to advance GSK’s priorities in improving healthcare and patient outcomes.
About Medical Specialty Care in Germany
GSK Medical Specialty Care covers therapeutic areas such as Hepatology, Respiratory, and Immunology. The team focuses on scientific excellence, launch readiness, and stakeholder engagement, while driving transformation and capability building to meet evolving healthcare needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead environmental assessments to understand and anticipate German medical trends and opportunities for GSK engagement with external organizations (e.g. medical societies, physician associations and key stakeholders).
- Evaluate and identify high‑impact partnerships and topics aligned with GSK’s goals to ensure external engagements are meaningful, impactful, and innovative.
- Develop and implement a strategic collaboration framework with medical societies, physician associations, and key stakeholders (e.g. experts and centers).
- Lead KOL, DOL, and academic consortia collaborations to generate scientific insights and real‑world evidence.
- Build and strengthen medical relationships with professional societies, healthcare quality, and other prioritized organizations.
- Develop and implement robust engagement strategies and detailed plans with prioritized organizations.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams across medical strategy teams, patient advocacy, new product planning, R&D, and commercial groups to ensure unified, consistent external engagement.
- Champion collaboration across multiple teams interacting with similar external stakeholders.
- Act as the strategic connector among launches, new product planning teams, and established medical teams to ensure internal coordination supports external engagement alignment.
- Initiate and lead large‑scale, innovative projects and partnerships that advance Specialty Care objectives.
- Coordinate strategic alliances and co‑creation workshops, ensuring consistent, high‑quality outcomes.
- Oversee compliance and governance for all external collaborations.
- Optimize reporting processes and reduce operational complexity to enable external strategic focus.
Basic Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience in strategic partnerships, medical affairs, or healthcare collaborations.
- Several years of experience in a strategic role within Medical Affairs, including launch planning and execution.
- Experience working effectively within a matrix organization and across cross‑functional teams.
- Experience in external stakeholder engagement and alliance management.
- Strong communication skills in German (C1 or native) and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specialty care therapeutic areas or complex chronic diseases.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks and governance in healthcare collaborations.
- Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
- Comfort with digital engagement tools and modern medical communication channels.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
