Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end design of all systems in our plant design, while mentoring, guiding, and growing a team of engineers who support you.
- Select process components such as sensors, valves, pumps, and vessels according to requirements and translate them into physical products.
- Manage mechanical design projects, from initial factory ideation through machine commissioning and eventual hand-off to manufacturing or test engineering.
- Rapidly iterate on system designs and integrations in a fast-paced environment.
- Oversee the creation of component and assembly drawings, ensuring all customer requirements are met.
- Lead design reviews internally and externally with suppliers and customers.
- Be responsible for project delivery timelines from early design through production, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Demonstrate technical excellence and take accountability for your work.
Qualifications
- Completed studies in mechanical engineering or a comparable qualification (e.g., diploma, B.Sc., M.Sc.).
- 5+ years of experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in the field of plant engineering (Anlagenbau) or special machinery construction (Sondermaschinenbau) projects, particularly those involving liquid mediums.
- Ability to redefine how requirements are viewed and designs are executed, bringing a hands-on approach to solving problems.
- Proficiency in applying regulations like the Pressure Equipment Directive (DGRL, EN 13445, ASME), Operational Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV), and Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG).
- Expertise in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) to create innovative designs.
- Familiarity with analysis and simulation tools such as material selection, FMEA, FEA, and CFD to ensure product reliability.
- Fluent in English, with German proficiency being a notable advantage.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and work on-site as needed, with relocation support available.
