We are now looking forward to the right person to become a part of our international legal team to join us as a

Legal Counsel

for our Business Area Markets Staff Function Legal & CEO Office for our central Hamburg office in a permanent role.

Your key responsibilities

As a part of the legal department you will advise on a variety of legal matters including:

• Developing agreements and structures to meet the challenges of the energy transition (e.g. battery energy storage systems (BESS)) in close collaboration with the business
• Drafting and reviewing master trading documentation and bespoke agreements for commodity and allowances / certificates trading and related documentation including credit support documents NDAs exclusivity agreements etc.
• Participating in projects / working groups providing strategic legal advice to the organization
• Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may impact the business
• Instructing and working with external counsel

Qualifications : Your qualifications

• German law degree with excellent qualification
• 3 years of experience in energy related commercial / contract law and / or financial trading law preferably gained in a reputable law firm legal department of an international (trading) company or bank
• Excellent command of the English and German language (written & spoken)
• Strong analytical capabilities highly self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
