Junior Test Engineer for Powertrain & Charging

Responsibilities
  • Develop E-Drive powertrain and charging interoperability test cases for software and system integration and qualification following functional specification
  • Identify and evaluate the necessary tools, assess needs and control procurement of test infrastructure when required
  • Budget planning, technical definition, coordination, planning and provision of test resources
  • Plan, execute and analyze test runs for regression and release testing in an agile context
  • Coordinate and execute test activities with internal and external teams
  • Provide continuous test feedback to systems and software stakeholders
  • Analyze CAN traces to narrow down root causes of failed test cases and customer issues
  • Monitor test progress, rate test results and create test reports using test metrics
  • Ensure milestones of “full function”, bug zero and approvals
  • Identify priority and critical issues during the project process and provide guidance to team members
Qualifications
  • Successfully completed university degree in an engineering field (computer science, electrical engineering, automotive engineering) or comparable qualification
  • Previous experience in the field of testing and functionality of e-drive components and systems is advantageous
  • Basic knowledge of closed-loop controllers, power electronics and electrical motors is advantageous
  • Knowledge of higher programming languages such as Python or C++ is advantageous
  • Practical knowledge of different communication buses (CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, MOST, FlexRay, Ethernet and PLC) and OBD protocols/standards (e.g. J1939, J1979, UDS)
  • Familiarity with testing tool chains such as Vector, INCA, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, strong perception and technical understanding
  • Preference for teamwork and strong communication skills (English, German)
  • Willingness to travel within Germany and internationally
  • Driving license class B
