Overview

SOSi is seeking a dedicated and skilled Junior Cybersecurity Technician to support our cybersecurity operations on site in Wiesbaden, Germany. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience as a cybersecurity technician, a passion for safeguarding IT infrastructure, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the protection of critical infrastructure supporting U.S. government operations in Europe.

Essential Job Duties
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents and events within the network.
  • Assist in maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading network security systems, hardware, and software.
  • Support system vulnerability assessments and assist in remediation efforts.
  • Implement cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls in compliance with government regulations.
  • Conduct system security audits and prepare documentation for compliance reviews.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users on security‑related issues.
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of firewalls, anti‑virus software, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Support cybersecurity training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
  • Assist in the creation and updating of cybersecurity incident response plans and documentation.
Minimum Requirements
  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance is required.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Certifications: IAT Level II certification required. (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA, SSCP, etc.)
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a cybersecurity technician, preferably in a U.S. government agency environment.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security tools.
  • Familiarity with NIST, FISMA, and other federal security standards.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, systems administration, and patch management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and respond to security incidents.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools and platforms used within U.S. government agencies.
  • Additional cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA CASP+).
  • ITIL v4.
