Overview

The novel Helmholtz Association-wide Biomedical Engineering Initiative translates groundbreaking research into real world impact: operating across 10 Helmholtz Centers and as a leading partner in regional Biotech Cluster Networks, the Initiative is searching for an industry professional with a compelling track record and motivation to accelerate the transfer of academic innovations through generating novel industry‑academia partnerships and networks.

This industry‑academia networking and fundraising role requires great interpersonal skills, ability to communicate DeepTech to different corporate circles, scientists and patient groups, initiation and development of partnerships aimed at making a difference in the future of health and society.

Your role

As Industry Fundraiser (f/m/x), you will be responsible for initiating, maintaining and delivering on strategic relations with industry partners to secure substantial financial support for tech innovations and translation of novel solutions with transformative potential to medicine and healthcare. The position will enable you to network with key industry players and policy makers across Europe and spearhead networking, collaborations and Public‑Private Partnerships (PPP), directing a critical pillar for value creation at the interface of academic and corporate innovators in the biomedical sector.

Key responsibilities
  • Communicate DeepTech advances to key stakeholders
  • Identify and engage prospective networks and industry sponsors
  • Maintain networks and PPP relationships
  • Generate compelling proposals and presentations to secure funding
  • Observe and act on newly emerging trends for funding and commercialization
  • Represent the initiative at conferences, partnering events, and industry forums
  • Coordinate fundraising events in liaison with initiative partners
  • Work closely with top scientists and science administrators and align priorities toward rapid success with all initiative stakeholders
Your profile
  • Completed higher scientific education
  • Experience and strong motivation for networking and partnership development and management
  • Experience or strong motivation for scientific fund‑raising
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong decision‑making skills and ability to work independently, across disciplines and to achieve defined goals

The position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of science, business, and innovation – someone who easily translates complex research into the next product to secure funding and support – someone whose ambition is to push societal impact.

If you fulfill all the requirements, you may be eligible for a salary grade of up to E 14. Social benefits are based on the Collective Wage Agreement for Public‑Sector Employees (TVöD). The position has an (initial) fixed term of 2 years but may be extended under certain circumstances.
