An international company in Düsseldorf is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to act as the central point of contact for all HR matters in Germany. You will manage recruitment, employee support, and ensure compliance with German labour laws. The ideal candidate is well-versed in HR practices and has excellent communication skills in both German and English. As part of a growing team, you’ll be the central point of contact for all HR matters in Germany. Supporting both employees and managers, leading recruitment efforts, contributing to key HR projects, and ensuring compliance with local legislation. Take ownership of recruitment activities in Germany, acting as the central point of coordination between hiring managers and external agencies
Partner with hiring managers to define roles, hiring priorities, and job requirements
Create job advertisements and manage job postings across relevant channels
Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle in the ATS (Teamtailor), from job posting to offer
Prepare employment contracts and agreements; manage external employees
Ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding processes and maintain related data in the HRIS
Act as the main HR contact for employees and managers across all German sites
Take over full HR responsibility in Germany, consolidating tasks currently handled by General Management and Finance
Advise managers on HR topics including hiring, performance, development, employee relations, and exits
Ensure accurate and legally compliant employee administration in line with German labour law
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and implement changes where required
Prepare monthly payroll in collaboration with the external provider and manage payroll data and benefits administration
Prepare HR-related reports for Finance, including payroll, absenteeism, and workforce data
Monitor working hours, absences, and sick leave using HRWorks
Retrieve electronic sick notes (eAU) via the ELSTER portal
Maintain digital and physical personnel files and HRIS records
Support employee well-being and engagement through regular check-ins
Organise employee events and engagement initiatives
Attend ASA meetings and manage airport ID applications
Support training, career development, employer branding, and employee feedback initiatives
Register and track training sessions and engagement survey outcomes
Has several years of experience in an HR role, preferably within Germany
Possesses strong knowledge of German labour law and HR practices
Is highly organised, discreet, and comfortable handling sensitive information
Thrives in a dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities
Is empathetic and socially competent in employee interactions
Has excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
Is located near one of our locations in Düsseldorf (DUS), Rüsselsheim (FRA) or Oberding-Schwaig (MUC)
