Join one of Germany’s most established renewable energy companies - with two decades of successful project delivery - now entering an exciting new phase of accelerated growth. Following significant investment from a leading European private equity infrastructure fund with deep sector expertise, they are scaling our Grid team to support one of the most ambitious pipelines in Europe.

They are currently looking for a Head of Grid to lead and strengthen their in-house capabilities and drive the grid connection strategy for large-scale PV, BESS, and onshore wind projects across Germany and Europe.

The Opportunity

As Head of Grid, you will lead a small, high-capability team of grid engineers, grid managers, and working students. Your role is both strategic and hands-on:

You will:

• Oversee all grid-related activities to ensure timely and efficient connection of large-scale PV, BESS, and wind assets.

• Guide and support your team day-to-day while actively contributing your own technical expertise.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with DSOs and TSOs to help navigate complex permitting and grid requirements.

• Serve as the key interface between the Grid team and company leadership, summarising progress, risks, and decisions.

• Take ownership of specific scopes or critical gaps — not just reporting, but driving solutions and moving projects forward.

• Play a central role in developing combined/hybrid system strategies as the company integrates PV, BESS, and wind.

What We’re Looking For

• Significant experience working on grid connection topics for utility-scale renewable energy projects (PV, wind, BESS).

• Strong existing network with German DSOs/TSOs and proven ability to manage technical discussions and approvals.

• Leadership capability: able to motivate, coach, and grow a multidisciplinary team.

• A hands-on personality - someone who can balance leading, troubleshooting, and digging into the details.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to brief senior leadership with clarity and insight.

• Located in or willing to relocate to Berlin.
