Jobbeschreibung

As Head of Finance (m / f / d) at Kipu Quantum you will take full ownership of our finance function - both strategically and operationally. You will define and execute key financial projects that have a direct impact on our business trajectory own department objectives and lead all financial planning reporting and accounting processes. Youll act as a strategic partner to the C-Level and investors while building the entire finance team from scratch. Until the team is in place you will independently take over administrative and operational finance tasks from daily bookkeeping to liquidity monitoring and external accounting coordination. This role is ideal for someone who combines visionary leadership with a hands-on startup mindset.

Your responsibilities

• Own and drive all financial strategy planning reporting and department objectives
• Take full responsibility for daily finance operations and admin tasks until the team is in place
• Oversee budgeting cash flow controlling and external accounting (HGB) including collaboration with tax advisors
• Support the companys fundraising efforts with analyses business plans and presentation materials
• Deliver timely and accurate internal reporting for investor-ready decision-making including cash flow forecasts department-level KPIs and financial dashboards.
• Represent Finance in Steering Committees and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization especially towards C-Level
• Maintain and optimize accounting tools (e.g. Finway) approval workflows and payment processes
• Act as a close sparring partner to the company leadership
• Eventually build and lead the finance department including hiring and team development

Your profile

• Degree in Finance Business Administration Accounting Controlling or a comparable field
• Several years of leadership experience in finance including managing teams and owning department strategy
• Proven success in building finance functions in startup or scale-up environments (ideally tech or deep tech)
• Strong expertise in financial planning & analysis liquidity management HGB accounting and fundraising support
• Skilled in tools like Excel (incl. VBA) accounting tools PowerPoint; Power BI is a plus
• Strategic thinker with hands-on mentality - able to dive into numbers while keeping a high-level business view
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills including experience reporting to founders investors and external advisors

Kipu Quantum is a German startup focused on quantum computing with offices in Karlsruhe and Berlin. We specialize in developing quantum algorithms tailored for specific applications and hardware. Our solutions help various industries including pharmaceuticals chemicals logistics and finance to tackle complex problems using existing quantum hardware. We aim to make practical quantum computing accessible by significantly reducing the time needed to achieve quantum advantage for real-world applications.

In December 2023 Kipu Quantum secured 10.5 million in seed funding led by HV Capital and DTCF (DeepTech & Climate Fonds) with participation from Entrada Ventures Quantonation and First Momentum Ventures. This funding will support the development of our hardware-specific quantum algorithms and accelerate the commercialization of our quantum solutions.
