We are helping our client, a global provider of automation and technology solutions, to hire a General Manager for its German subsidiary.

About the Role

In this role you will lead the client’s German subsidiary with full P&L responsibility.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee sales, service, operations, HR, and local process optimization.

The focus is on scaling the business beyond its current revenue base by strengthening direct and channel sales, expanding partnerships, and managing long-cycle capital equipment deals.

You will lead a medium-sized team and act as the key bridge between headquarters and the local market, balancing strategic alignment with operational execution.

Responsibilities
  • Drive revenue growth through new capital equipment sales, service contracts, and recurring revenue streams.
  • Lead and manage a multi-functional team across sales, service, operations, and administration.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow the business revenue.
  • Build and manage direct and channel sales relationships, including long-cycle, high-value contracts.
  • Navigate public tender processes within the healthcare and industrial sectors.
  • Oversee service delivery and customer satisfaction, ensuring install base performance.
  • Implement and optimize ERP and CRM systems to support operations and sales growth.
  • Identify gaps in business processes and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Represent the subsidiary externally to clients, partners, and stakeholders while maintaining alignment with HQ strategy.
Qualifications
  • MUST : 10+ years of leadership experience, including previous GM, MD, Country Manager, or BU Head roles.
  • MUST : Full P&L management for businesses in the €10–20M range.
  • MUST : Proven background in capital equipment and complex solution sales.
  • MUST : Experience managing both direct and channel sales networks.
  • MUST : Demonstrated success scaling businesses, driving profitability, and building cross-functional teams.
  • MUST : Cross-functional management experience
  • MUST : Fluent German and English.
  • Strong familiarity with public tenders in Germany, ideally in healthcare or industrial markets.
  • Experience implementing or managing ERP and CRM platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or related field (MBA preferred but not required).
