Founding Data Scientist

About the position

You will work closely with the founding team and contribute to the early direction of product development. YOUth is an early‑stage startup, and you will be expected to take initiative and full ownership of key projects for the company.

As an ambitious data scientist, you will apply statistical and machine learning techniques into production, research and develop customer‑facing features such as recommendation systems and biomarker estimation from video, audio, and text data.

Previous work in the biomedical sector would be beneficial but is not mandatory. You care about impact and want to do work that matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply statistical and ML techniques to develop essential parts of product features (recommendation systems, biomarker estimation from video/audio/text data).
• Deploy and manage code in a production environment.
• Research and develop novel products in a healthcare domain, staying up‑to‑date in the field.
• Build and work on a holistic and unique digital twin dataset composed of voice recordings, face videos, eye pictures, face pictures, digital biomarkers, blood biomarkers and more.
• Build the next version of Doctor AI: a reasoning engine built on top of our data layer that drafts safe, evidence‑based medical protocols.
• Set the base to design and implement a conversational medical agent.

Experience

4+ years industry experience (or 1+ years with a PhD).

Required Skills

• MSc in Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Excellent coding skills in Python, git, and coding best practices.
• Previous startup or other high‑ownership environment experience.
• Strong understanding of foundational Statistical and ML techniques.
• Experience with recommendation systems and/or signal processing.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch).
• Strong understanding of SDLC.
• Excellent written and spoken English; English is our working language.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, banking).
• Research experience or scientific publications in the field.
• Experience deploying ML products in a production environment.

Timeline: starting ASAP. Time commitment: full‑time. Location: Germany (Berlin/Munich). Salary: 90k€–120k€ + equity.
