We’re looking for an Forward Deployed Engineer who can work directly with customers to design, implement, and optimize AI-powered automation workflows. You’ll sit at the intersection of engineering, customer success, and product — translating problems into working systems using tools like Make, Zapier, APIs, and AI agents.

This role is perfect for someone who loves building, problem‑solving, and working closely with users. You’re hands‑on, technical enough to debug issues, and comfortable owning projects from kickoff through deployment.

What You’ll Work On

Client Implementation and Deployment

  • Lead onboarding and technical setup for new customers
  • Translate client workflows into automation architectures using Make, Zapier, APIs, and AI tools
  • Configure, test, and deploy integrations, voice agents, and automations
  • Troubleshoot errors and create clean, stable systems that scale

Technical Problem Solving

  • Use APIs, webhooks, and structured data to connect platforms
  • Work with engineering to debug deeper technical issues
  • Run tests, track logs, and improve system reliability
  • Build internal tools or templates that speed up future deployments
  • Act as the primary technical partner for assigned customers
  • Map business problems to automation opportunities
  • Train customers on new workflows and validate that solutions meet requirements
  • Provide clear documentation, walkthroughs, and support when needed

Process and Product Improvement

  • Identify recurring customer needs and recommend product enhancements
  • Help build SOPs, runbooks, and implementation frameworks
  • Improve the deployment pipeline to reduce friction and increase speed
  • Gather structured feedback and share insights with product and engineering
Who You Are
  • 3 to 5+ years in a technical role such as implementation, solutions engineering, automation, or customer success engineering
  • Experienced with Make.com, Zapier, or other workflow automation platforms
  • Comfortable working with APIs, JSON, webhooks, and system integrations
  • Familiar with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or voice agents
  • Strong communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple deployments at once
  • Resourceful, proactive, and confident in environments with little hand‑holding

Nice to Have

  • Experience in SaaS, automation, or AI startups
  • Background in customer success or onboarding for technical products
  • Ability to create documentation, training materials, or short demo videos
  • Experience building no-code or low-code internal tools
  • Familiarity with CRMs, Airtable, or internal database systems
