Job Description

Fleet Mechanic / Diagnostic Specialist – Future Shop Manager

Location: Hamburg / Allentown, PA

Golden Key Express LLC, a growing refrigerated carrier with 35+ trucks and trailers, is seeking a Fleet Mechanic and Diagnostic Specialist to join our team. This is not just a job — it’s an opportunity to build the foundation of our in-house shop team and grow into a Shop Manager role as we expand.

We are currently building a state-of-the-art terminal and repair facility in Hamburg, PA, designed to make preventative maintenance and diagnostics efficient, safe, and streamlined.

Position Overview

The Fleet Mechanic / Diagnostic Specialist will:

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMI) and keep equipment DOT-compliant
  • Diagnose and repair transmissions, clutches, suspensions, electrical systems, and emissions (DPF/DEF) components
  • Carry out routine services including oil changes, brakes, and suspension repairs
  • Work on Kenworth, Volvo, Freightliner tractors and Carrier/Thermo King refrigerated trailers
  • Collaborate with ownership to help shape the shop’s procedures, efficiency, and standards

Note: Major engine rebuilds and heavy internal engine work will be sent to dealerships. Our focus is diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and core fleet repairs.

Requirements
  • Proven diesel mechanic experience (Class 8 trucks & reefer trailers)
  • Strong diagnostic skills, especially with electrical & emissions systems
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-driven
  • Must provide basic hand tools (company provides specialty tools)
  • CDL license but not required
  • Leadership potential and interest in growing into a management role
