The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to provide support in overseeing the financial operations of our organization. The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing accounting records, providing support in producing financial reports, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, and performing financial analysis. This role is critical in maintaining financial integrity and providing insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Provide support in maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Participate in periodical budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
  • Ensure compliance with HGB and US GAAP, national, and international financial regulations and standards.
  • Periodical account reconciliation performance.
  • Support strategic initiatives through financial modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Optimize processes, ERP flows and financial reporting tools including process improvements.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
What do you bring?

An Ideal Candidate Would Likely Have The Following Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of German HGB accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE, Power BI Dynamics).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis tools, and financial modelling.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Benefits and Working Conditions
  • A total of 30 days annual leave, rising to 37 days including bridge days
  • 37 working hours per week (tariff based) plus an average of 1 hour/week for up to 7 additional days off (days specified by the company -bridge days)
  • Flexitime: Start can be between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m - core working hours are between 9 a.m. and 3.30 p.m - work must end by 6 p.m. at the latest
  • Pension contribution (max.): Company pension scheme EUR 319/year (coming from tariff); in the case of salary conversion, there is an additional 10% on the conversion amount
  • Non-cash benefit of EUR 50/month (gross/net) via a voucher system
  • After one year of employment, employees have the opportunity to participate in bike leasing. Up to two bikes with a total value of currently €7,000 can be leased. The company passes on the savings in social security contributions to the employee in the form of a health allowance, thereby reducing the leasing
