Job Summary

We are looking for a Field Application Engineer who will partner closely with engineering, business development and sales teams to drive sales of our LiDAR products and solutions in EMEA.

How you will make an impact

• Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders within target customer organizations, providing technical insights, demonstrating the value of LiDAR solutions, and driving successful product integration.
• Collaborate with customers, internal sales, and engineering teams to understand requirements, influence product development, and drive sales strategy.
• Serve as the primary technical interface between customers and internal R&D teams, ensuring alignment on product requirements and technical expectations.
• Lead technical demonstrations, training workshops, and hands-on proof-of-concept projects to showcase LiDAR benefits to customers.
• Provide field support for product integration, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical issues during deployment of LiDAR systems.
• Support the sales process by developing technical sales proposals, responding to RFIs/RFQs, and ensuring accurate technical content in presentations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including product manuals, application guides, and training materials for internal teams and customers.
• Identify opportunities for value-added solutions and drive technical discussions that help close deals.
• Lead on-site customer visits and technical evaluations to ensure product performance meets expectations.
• Foster strong customer relationships to support long-term success and growing business.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or a related technical discipline; plus 2+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, field application engineering, or hardware engineering, ideally within LiDAR, sensor, or automotive industries (Master's degree preferred).
• Experience in the automotive, sensor, or traffic industry with exposure to full product lifecycle management preferred.
• Knowledge of LiDAR systems, sensor technologies, and the competitive landscape.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to resolving technical challenges in the field.
• Ability to travel as needed (approximately 20%) to meet customers, conduct site visits, and support deployments.
