Location

Location: Leipzig, Germany (onsite)


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead an R&D and production team to develop a scalable purification process for innovative, sustainable building blocks used as feedstock for novel polyester-based plastics.

  • Develop a strategy to progress toward a 100+ kt / a world-scale process, defining clear steps to move from kg-lab scale to t-pilot scale and ultimately reach commercial kt-scale production.

  • Validate strategies and ideas through laboratory-scale experiments to evaluate technologies.

  • Manage development projects with external service providers to create end-to-end processes for purifying complex product mixtures into pure fine chemicals.

  • Define and align input and output streams (chemical and physical properties) and establish product specifications.

  • Collaborate closely with management as well as upstream and downstream R&D teams.

  • Drive innovation by co-developing and implementing next-generation purification technologies.

  • Prepare technical reports and patent applications.

  • Ensure SHEQ and sustainability standards are upheld in all laboratory, pilot, and production activities, including knowledge of REACH / CLP, LCA, recycling, and end-of-life strategies.


Your Profile


  • Degree in Organic Chemistry, Technical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline (PhD preferred).

  • Several years of industrial experience in the synthesis and / or purification of fine chemicals.

  • Proven track record in project management and successful implementation of processes or syntheses.

  • Ideally familiar with cGMP, ISO 9001, or equivalent quality systems.

  • Proficiency in analytical instrumentation and data interpretation.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and German (written and spoken).

  • Hands-on mindset, structured way of working, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
