My client is a multi-billion global manufacturer of electric motors and power transmission components. They are looking for a Category Manager Castings in Dusseldorf, Germany. The CM will be responsible for all procurement activities related to the assigned category; castings. You will work closely with the divisional product leaders, operations and other key stakeholders to deploy strategies that drive value.
What will you do?
- Manage supplier contracts, and supply agreements with preferred suppliers to ensure that market trends, supplier performance, and future business needs are aligned
- Create, implement, manage, and review a comprehensive category management strategy for castings and sub-category strategies if appropriate.
- Developing category plans, contract management and understanding of supply contract legal terms.
- Provide support to non-procurement category managers to determine sourcing strategies
- Demonstrate good communicative skills in explaining the business challenge and the strategy under development and encouraging skill in project management.
- Create work plans and schedules to be executed, accounting for business unit requirements, procurement processes, and the degree of workload intensity require.
- Promote corporate objectives and change initiatives, ensuring that commodity strategies are supporting overall company direction and growth
- Initiate and lead supplier assessment and supplier selection processes
- Analyse traditional and non-traditional supplier capabilities and supply base trends to select the optimum supply and value chain strategies that will leverage existing business
Who are we looking for?
- A master's level degree in engineering/business management or related subjects.
- At least 3+ years of experience in commodity procurement, contract management, supplier management, and business - related discipline.
- Emerging market sourcing experience, ie. Asian markets, including China, India, etc,.
- Willingness to work on-site as required (hybrid working model)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
