Summary
As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for business development and sales, with a primary focus on utilities. Your role will also cover other sectors, targeting both existing and new customers across the Benelux region and Germany.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain a sales pipeline tracked on the CRM system;
- Close and deliver sales results based on the pipeline while reporting progress on projects to the Regional Sales Director / Segment Sales Director on a regular basis;
- Identify new business opportunities in line with the guidelines of the business strategy;
- Maintain and develop high level sales relationships in order to maintain and increase market quotas, acting as a market leader in the assigned area;
- Plan, develop and execute business development activities in the assigned area;
- Drive the activities and actions in the assigned area and market for relevant products, services and spare parts sales;
- Conducting Market Research and in deploying the global sales strategy facilitating growth and sales at the assigned area;
- Identify the major top customers and ensuring their needs are being met, and that they are kept up to date with any new Cavotec products or developments through various methods including meetings and presentations.
Requirements
- Good communicator, fluency in English, Dutch and German
- Technical background (Electrical or Mechanical Technical degree) with understanding and / or hands-on experience with industrial equipment
- Proven experience in technical sales (2-5 years min) or similar commercial experience
- A strong understanding of LV & HV electrical theory
- Experience in industrial products or commissioning engineering product selling
- Understanding of systems / solutions selling is a plus
- Good interpersonal skills and commercially savvy
- Experience in the division’s systems, products and business region will be a plus
- Experience in negotiating international sales contracts
- Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with key technical or mid-management decision makers
- Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
- Frequent travel is required within the region (at least 50%)
