Operations Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY: The Supervisor of Operations is responsible for overseeing daily operations, which may include staffing, scheduling, equipment and supply maintenance, internal communications, budget management, outside agency interactions, and community relations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
- Supervise, direct, and develop field staff to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Maintain quality field operations through daily contact, oversight, communication, and evaluation.
- Serve as a liaison between the company and patients, public safety agencies, training institutions, hospitals, and other relevant personnel.
- Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, administer disciplinary actions, and facilitate team development to achieve positive results.
- Collaborate with management and supervisory team to resolve staffing and scheduling issues and improve service quality.
- Participate in developing, modifying, and implementing department policies, standards, regulations, and operational procedures related to EMS delivery.
- Ensure adequate staffing for field units, manage shift schedules, and facilitate shift bids. Cover open shifts as needed.
- Supervise the operation, utilization, and maintenance of medical equipment and apparatus.
- Review Patient Care Reports (PCRs) and other field documentation for accuracy and timely reconciliation.
- Investigate incidents and complaints involving units or personnel and resolve appropriately.
- Prepare reports and manage projects assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Ensure payroll is completed and submitted accurately and on time.
- Assist in recruiting and training new employees.
- Maintain employee training records and track certifications and accreditations for compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years EMS field experience.
- Leadership or supervisory experience such as FTO preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED; advanced education preferred.
- EMT/Paramedic Certification.
- State Driver's License with a driving record compliant with GMR's Safety & Driving policy.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, BTLS/PHTLS.
