Qualifications

Accountability Objective

Under the direction of the Health & Wellness Manager, the Health & Wellness Supervisor is responsible for planning and assisting with the care of residents in accordance with the philosophy, objectives, and standards of Verve Senior Living.

Background/Qualifications
  • Has a recognized nursing license (CLPNA) and must be in good standing.
  • Has demonstrated excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English is required.
  • Must have proficient computer skills (i.e., Word and Excel).
  • Preference given to individuals with 2 or more years of experience working in seniors living.
Key Responsibilities
  • Participates in the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) program.
  • Prepares daily LPN and HCA resident care assignments. Stays up to date on services provided and works with staff, residents, and their families to meet residents’ needs.
  • Assists the Health & Wellness Manager with resident files to ensure proper documentation and safe practices related to care needs and medication administration.
  • Stores all archived and year-end documents accordingly.
  • Maintains all resident care files and computer systems (SARA, E-Mar, MEDe-care, POC).
  • Provides feedback and contributes to organizing a plan of care to promote resident independence based on legislation.
  • Participates in updates regarding residents’ plans of care every 6 months (or as required) under the direction of the Health & Wellness Manager.
  • Serves as a leader and helps develop employees to ensure service quality and job standards are met.
  • Assists with HCA and LPN scheduling as needed. On-call coverage every second weekend.
  • Assists with training and orientation for new staff members.
  • Assists with outbreak tracking and preparation of outbreak supplies.
  • Tracks inventory and purchases medical supplies as required.
  • Distributes medications according to resident medication times.
  • Performs treatments for residents requiring them and assesses changes in residents’ conditions.
  • Responds to emergency calls, providing assistance and contacting professional help or family when necessary.
  • Ensures the safekeeping of medications and nursing supplies.
  • Complies with relevant health and safety legislation, reports incidents, and participates in safety protocols and training.
  • Completes mandatory training and complies with all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other tasks delegated by the Health and Wellness Manager or General Manager.
