A digital news organization is seeking an experienced Editor in Oshawa. The role involves leading an editorial team, ensuring high-quality content, and focusing on community journalism. Candidates should have a degree in Journalism, strong writing/editing skills, and familiarity with Durham Region. The successful applicant will thrive in a fast-paced environment and guide their newsroom to address community issues effectively. This is a full-time position requiring local residency.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a newsroom setting.
  • Commitment to fairness, accuracy, transparency, and ethics in journalism.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an editorial team in Oshawa.
  • Guide and develop skilled team of writers and editors.
  • Ensure all content is impeccable and exercise editorial judgment.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive community coverage.
