Job Description

Task Description: Under the supervision of the web editor-in-chief, the incumbent coordinates the production of content (text, videos and social media) for various platforms in the day, evenings and on weekends, while adhering to the objectives and editorial guidelines established for the various platforms.

  • Supervise digital content production teams and support them by producing content
  • Based on the plan established with the editor-in-chief, manage and integrate content (product quality, discoverability, and optimisation) with the team of multi-platform editors/reporters, community managers, and digital support coordinators
  • Ensuring the editorial management and updating of the various home pages of RDS.ca (web / mobile) and the various content modules, taking into account the objectives and business needs of RDS
  • Manage and sort available information/news and constantly ensure that the team produces the most relevant content for fans on the various platforms
  • Regularly consult the content performance analysis dashboard (Chartbeat and BEX) to adapt the content of the home page and guide ongoing production
  • Work closely with the senior producer SP30 to establish the coverage plan and adjust it as needed
  • Work closely with the digital production desk chief on the online publication of produced videos
  • Produce regular reports (reports if necessary) to his superior with the objective of continuous improvement
  • Follow up as needed on sponsored projects or webcasts on the various platforms according to the plan established with the web editor-in-chief, social media producer and senior digital content coordinator
  • During weekends, under the supervision of the producer, also support requests for the newsroom
  • Provide training as needed to multi-platform editors-reporters
Knowledge and Skills
  • College diploma or University degree in Journalism or Communication or the equivalent
  • Knowledge of English required: Interactions with English speaking customers or people outside of Quebec
  • Have excellent sports knowledge
  • Have a solid experience in sports media as a producer, editor / sports reporter (minimum 5 years)
  • Demonstrate leadership, a great team spirit and a great openness to change
  • Have an excellent knowledge of digital and social platforms
  • Have experience or skills in personnel management
  • Possess a spirit of synthesis and an ease to assess the relevance of the content to be offered to amateurs
  • Have a sense of organization and a results-oriented vision
  • Possess a spirit of initiative, be creative and proactive

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
