The Grande Prairie Mill is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager. The EHS Manager will oversee daily and long-term EHS activities for all mill operations, ensuring alignment with corporate initiatives and priorities. The role involves interface with community leaders and regulatory agencies to represent the mill regionally. The EHS Manager is a key member of the mill leadership team and reports directly to the Mill Manager.

This role covers a broad range of areas including operations, maintenance, technical, and personnel management.

• Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and training to promote an accident- and incident-free facility.
• Drive continuous improvement in environmental and safety systems and employee engagement.
• Lead development of Environmental Management System procedures for water, air, and waste management.
• Ensure compliance with local, provincial, federal, and company safety standards.
• Manage safety initiatives, including injury prevention, hazard identification, and program gaps.
• Oversee regulatory reporting and permitting processes.
• Participate in an 8-week weekend duty rotation.

• At least 10 years of post-college EHS experience, including 5 years managing an EHS team in a complex regulatory environment.
• Technical degree in environmental engineering or a comparable field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of OHS, EPA, and PPER regulations.
• Leadership qualities aligned with the IP model: Character, Capability, Catalyst.
