Reporting to the Manager of the Provincial Security Communications Centre, this position is responsible for monitoring radio activity with a primary focus on officer safety, receiving calls for urgent and non-urgent requests for security assistance, documenting all activities of AHS Provincial Protective Services officers, researching information from various database systems, and coordinating administrative assignments of officers.
As the Telecommunications Officer, you will monitor radio activity to maintain awareness of field operations, ensure relevant information is shared promptly, and provide immediate assistance links for Protective Services Officers in emergencies and non-emergencies.
Completion of Grade 12 and a certificate or diploma related to Emergency Communications and Response, Law Enforcement, Security, or Criminology. Must be eligible for Solicitor General's Community Peace Officer Level II appointment.
Prior experience with radio dispatch in a fast-paced environment, with skills in telephone communications/switchboard systems, computer applications, two-way radio systems, and records management systems.
Valid First Aid certificate and BCLS-HCP training.
